Brainwave - Learning Names

I just realized something that could be a big help in the future.  I was passing out the self-portraits the sixth graders are working on (I suppose I'll probably write about them later this week), and I realized that I should start the year, in all my classes, with whatever self-portrait I decide to do with that grade.  See, as an art teacher in an international school, I have a lot of student turn-over, and I change schools about every two years, so learning names is a challenge!  However, I've learned that I can often remember students' artwork faster than their faces, so by starting off the year with a self-portrait, I would combine the two and end up figuring out who everyone is much faster...and if I still couldn't remember, I would have their photos named and on file to remember.
